Nation in Conversation looks at the Wheat Industry

But first the crew stops over at the small town of Christiana to partake in the town’s annual Diggers Festival. Former History School Teacher, Johan Neethling, tells us how the town was established back in 1870 and what the discovery of diamonds had to do with it. 

We also visit Jaco Strauss’s wheat farm, Afgri Milling and Super Sure bakery to get an insight into wheat production and the value chain. As always Ferdie Meyer joins the team in studio to shed light on the economic variables around the wheat industry, both locally and internationally from a consumer consumption prospect.
